IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver and Trimix Normoxic Plus Diver

The Normoxic Trimix Diver and Normoxic Trimix Diver Plus is an advanced technical diver training program that trains and develop competency for divers that wish to explore depths in the 60-70m range. Training and dives are carried out using trimix gas mixtures as a bottom gas and up to 2 decompression gasses.
Duration 5-6 days.

Prerequisites:

  • Must be qualified as an Advanced EANx Diver or Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver
  • Must provide proof of a minimum of 100 logged dives, of which at least 30 were deeper than 27 m or sufficient experience doing technical dives to satisfy the instructor that the student has the ability and knowledge to continue into this level of training.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years.

Depth limit: 60-70m

Gas Usage: Covers the use of trimix as the bottom gas. Includes the use of higher oxygen-content gases (up to 100% oxygen) to optimize decompression efficiency.

Skills and Training:

  1. Dive planning using decompression tables or dive computers.
  2. Proper use of stage cylinders for carrying and switching gases.
  3. Buoyancy control and ascent techniques in staged decompression.
  4. Managing emergencies and handling equipment failures during decompression dives.

Equipment: Focuses on the use of back mounted double cylinders and stage cylinders, primary light, dry suits. Teaches gas switching procedures and advanced equipment configuration & management.
